Review: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer

Today I am writing a requested review on Bobbi Brown's Creamy Concealer. I have to say I have mixed feelings about this product. I do like it, I just don't love it.

I think this concealer works very well as an under-eye product. It is very pigmented and opaque, which is great when you are trying to cover any predominant discolorations such as dark under-eye circles. For this purpose, I much prefer a formula like this compared to thinner concealers such as Clinique's Airbrush Concealer.

The Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer is, as it's name denotes, very creamy. In my experience this can be both a good and bad thing, depending on what you are using the product for. Having a concealer that is both thick & moisturizing is beneficial for the delicate skin under your eyes. However, with my combination skin, it does not always work well on the rest of my face. I have not had the best experience using this on oilier regions, such as around my nose to cover any redness. I think this concealer is simply too tacky to work well with oily skin. My makeup may look good for an hour or so, but soon after it begins to look patchy when oil breaks through.

As of now, I am undecided if I will repurchase this product. Although I like the effect under my eyes, I don't like having to use two separate concealers for different parts of my face. I do think that this concealer may be better suited for those with more normal to dry skin types.

P.S. My apologies if this post is a bit scattered and rambly! I am battling an awful cold today :/

I must say that I like the Clinique one too.
But today, I've just bought the Boots Witch Hazel concealer, to treat as well as conceal. Let's hope it does a good job. xxx

    1. Let me know what you think of the boots concealer! They sell Boots here in California at Target, but I have never tried any of their products. Hope you're having a good weekend!

  2. I purchased this same concealer about a month ago & have to agree - I like it, but don't love it. I think I'll be trying a different one soon. I have pretty dry skin & unfortunate under-eye circles, but this one still doesn't have the lasting power I'd like.

    Great review! :)

  3. Thanks for the comment Shawna :)

Yeah, I think I was just expecting some miracle concealer because of all the hype around it. Let me know if you find another one you like!

  4. I feel the same way about this concealer. One I really like is the sonia kashuk hidden agenda palette from target. The issue with it is that there's only one color option, but if it matches you it's a fantastic product at a great price!

    1. Thanks for the suggestion! I've heard lots of great things about that palette! I've just been apprehensive because I'm so fair I'm afraid it will be too dark for me- will have to take a look next time I'm at Target!
