Mini Haul: Benefit Cosmetics & Smashbox

Hi Everyone! I hope your Monday wasn't too painful! I did a little bit of shopping this weekend & wanted to show you the goodies I picked up. I went into Macy's to purchase a few things from the Benefit's counter (always a favorite) & then over to Sephora to find the new BB Cream from Smashbox Cosmetics.

How cute is their Spring catalogue? I have to admit, I'm such a sucker for Benefit's adorable retro marketing & packaging!

Benefit Cosmetics Eye Bright
"Stroke this pink brightening pencil on the inner and outer corners of the eye to look instantly wide-awake. It helps absorb dark shadows on the inner and outer corner of the eye...like a coffee break in a stick! "  Benefit Cosmetics Website

This is a third-time repeat purchase for me. Eye Bright is such a versatile product. Works great as a color corrector under concealer to disguise dark circles, as well as on the inner waterline to hide redness. Love this!

Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste
"This concentrated, creamy concealer brightens and camouflages in one easy step! Targets dark circles, discoloration and imperfections. Three shades with brightening melon undertones to suit every complexion." Benefit Cosmetics Website

I've been meaning to try this concealer for a while. I'm hoping it lives up to its hype!

Benefit Cosmetics Velvet Eyeshadow in Dandy Brandy
Described as a "copper spice" shade

Benefit Cosmetics makes my all-time favorite cream shadow in the shade "Birthday Suit" a gorgeous pewter beige color. I picked this shade up to pair in the crease for a bit of contour.

Smashbox Cosmetics Camera Ready BB Cream

This was the main reason I went to the mall over the weekend. I was intrigued by the idea of a product with coverage just a step above tinted moisturizer, but still not as heavy as a foundation. I especially wanted something lighter for Spring & Summer. Also, these BB Creams claim to have many beneficial ingredients for your skin. A full review will be coming up later this week :)

Please let me know if you have any questions about any of these products! Thanks for reading!

Lots of Love,

Louise

  1. I've been wanting to try the new bb cream from smashbox. I think I might finally be in luck on finding one that is light enough for me. I've been usin the erase paste for over a year now and it's great, I just find if I apply to much then it will gather in the lines.

    1. Thanks for the comment! I have been loving Erase Paste so far as well! Really nice coverage & doesn't seem too cake as much as my previous concealer, the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer.

As far as the BB cream, I might ask for a sample first before making the purchase & see how your skin handles it. I initially loved the finish but now my skin is not so happy :/ But I will have a full review all about that later this week!

  2. Looking forward to your BB cream review! Erase Paste is awesome! I've put the eye bright pencil in my sephora online 'shopping cart' so many times but can never decide if I really need it. I should just get it and try it!

    1. Thank you so much for the sweet comment & follow!

I highly recommend Eye Bright- I actually think it does wonders under Erase Paste to brighten up the eye area (hence the name lol). Now is as good a time as any to take the plunge w/ Sephora's VIB 15% off sale!

  3. Lots of beautiful Benefit cosmetics. I love benefit, I'm always at the counter. My favourite product by them has to be the playstick foundations - amazing coverage.

    Lovely blog ;) I'm a new follower

    1. Thank you for following! <3

I know I'm always either at the Benefit or Nars counter - it's dangerous! I haven't tried the playsticks before, but I have heard good things!

  4. I love eyebright my pencils in abit of a mess though so I think I need to sharpen it. Also Erase Paste is amazing, I never thought I'd like it because of how 'thick' the consistency seems but a little bit goes such a long way and it brightens under the eyes unlike some concealers which make them seem dull I think.

    1. Hi Jodie! I agree! Benefit just really hit the nail on the head with the pigments in Erase Paste- I know what you mean about other concealers looking dull. Also, I think this concealer will last ages because of how little you need to cover anything up :)

  6. I've been wanting to try erase paste by benefit but ive heard so much controversy and I've heard that boiing is better.. decisions decisions. I might try the NYX concealer in a jar first since its way cheaper. I'm looking forward to the BB Cream Full review, and erase paste review as well.

    1. Thanks for the comment :)

Having tried both Boi-ing & Erase Paste, I have to say I prefer Erase Paste. Boi-ing does have great coverage, but I found it to be a bit more dry and looked a little cakey on my skin. Erase Paste has medium coverage, but it looks more natural on the skin. Hope this helps!
