Today I'm Wearing #7: A Rose Gold Eye Look

Hello Lovelies! Last summer, I watched a video by the lovely Ingrid (missglamorazzi on youtube) in which she did a makeup look incorporating MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot & a NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Silk Road on the eyes. The result was an effortless, summery, rose-gold look. Since I already owned NARS Silk Road, I promptly ran out and purchased MAC's Rubenesque. For a week or two, this was my go-to look. Then, as with many of my products, this combo somehow was forgotten in favor of new and more exciting makeup products. A few days ago, I was rumaging through my makeup storage and came across Rubenesque & decided to give it another try. After using these two products for a few days,  I for the life of me can't understand why I ever abandoned them! Go figure...

MAC's Rubenesque & NARS Silk Road play beautifully together. Rubenesque makes the perfect base for Silk Road because it deepens the color slightly & helps to bring out the golden tones of the shadow. The result is a vibrant wash of shimmering rose-gold across the lid.

Do you have any makeup looks you once loved & have now rediscovered?

Lots of Love,

Louise

  1. I loved the Urban Decay Naked bronzed eye look done by fashionista804 on youtube. I wore it everyday! Then I started being a bit more adventurous and forgot about it. After reading this post I'm so going to start rocking that look again. Thank you!

  3. I've been making an effort to go through my vanity case each day, which holds all of my eyeshadows, in an attempt to get re-using some old, long lost and forgotten but once loved shadows! xo

  9. I adore rose-gold eye looks, especially for Summer. It's my general go-to look at the moment, because it's easy, fairly neutral, & simply pretty. These particular products look great, I may just have to give them a try! :)

    1. Thanks Emma! You're so sweet!

Silk Road is really a gorgeous neutral- as long as you're willing to use a good primer/ flat shader brush because there is glitter in it (which can be a pain if you're not careful). It probably is one of my most used NARS Duos!
