A few weeks ago I popped into the salon down by my work to pick up my beloved Bumble and bumble Thickening Shampoo and as I was paying, the friendly sales attendant slipped a sample packet of a new shampoo and conditioner duo into my bag, from the new Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil family. Even armed with my new full-size Thickening Shampoo purchase, I couldn't wait to get home and try out the samples. I'd say the Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Shampoo is nice, but doesn't compete with the Bb Thickening one, but the conditioner....oh that conditioner! Truth be told, the first thing that really caught me was the divine scent, but I also loved the way it left my hair weightless and shiny afterwards. For a few weeks following, I would walk past the salon during my lunch break and always peek in through the window to see if they had any new products, until this past Friday when I was stopped dead in my tracks by a beacon of neon-coral-goodness. The new Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil family of products had finally landed!!
Let me just reiterate that this product smells amazing. It is floral and fruity and altogether vaguely reminiscent of Chanel Mademoiselle. It is chalk-full of hair beautifying ingredients like Shea Butter, Grape Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil and Coconut Oil. Most of these ingredients are listed at the top or near the top of the ingredients list which leads me to believe they are in high concentrations.
The formula is unique to any conditioner I have tried. When squeezed out of the tube it feels like a weightless cream-gel hybrid and distributes through hair effortlessly. As soon as applied to my medium-length hair I can feel it instantly start to detangle, making the process of applying it evenly through my hair even easier.
The packaging for the Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Conditioner is improved as well. I much prefer this new conditioner packaging to that of previous Bumble and bumble shampoos and conditioners in the traditional round bottles. I sometimes find it cumbersome to squeeze thicker conditioners out of those bottles, like the Straight conditioner that I also like. You really have to put some effort in to get that sucker out! The Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Conditioner comes in a convenient upright tube. I have to say I'm loving the design of the tube as well! There's something about the almost neon coral design on the bottle that seems extra cheerful in my shower. The only downside to the new packaging I've noticed is that you only get 6.7 fl oz of product, whereas in my Bb Straight Conditioner in the old packaging, they gave us 8.5 fl oz. That's a difference of 1.8 fl oz and at the steep prices you have to pay for Bb products, that does irk me just a little bit.
Bb claims that "6 featherlight oils help soften, silken, tame and de-frizz, detangle and protect." So does it live up to these proclamations? I have to say both yes and no. After using this conditioner a few times, my opinion is that this conditioner is beautiful but probably best suited to someone with normal to dry hair, and might not be moisturizing enough for people with very dry or course hair. The Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Conditioner pairs beautifully with my holy-grail Bb Thickening Shampoo and left my hair feeling impossibly soft, detangled, shiny bouncy and not at all weighed-down. Of all the Bb conditioners I have used, I am most impressed by this one. It also helps make blow-drying and straightening my hair a breeze as brushes and hot tools glide easily through my detangled hair. My only concern was that my somewhat dry, heat-damaged ends did still feel a little on the parched side. For my personal use, I think this conditioner might be best suited to be paired with a rich, thicker weekly hair mask.
Overall, if you're looking for a beautiful everyday conditioner that will give you lots of beneficial ingredients to nourish your hair, give this one a try! As far as I can tell, the Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil family of products is not yet available on Bumble and bumble.com. You can however find it a Sephora.
I love pretty much everything by Bumble and Bumble!
